Government has been called upon to ensure schools re – open on time for the third term to ensure the pupils and students continue well with their education.
Mt Elgon Knut executive secretary Stephen Chemonges says most of the parents are not sure of the dates when the schools will re-open after president Uhuru Kenyatta ordered for closure of all education institutions saying strategies need to be in place before May.
He said since some counties are under lock down the President should ensure that there is uniform opening of schools so as not to disadvantage some of the students in the said regions.
Chemonges further called upon teachers from across the country to take the Covid -19 jab saying it will protect them from contracting the deadly Corona Virus saying it is unfortunate that three teachers from Mt Elgon have already succumbed to it.
