The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) first National trustee chairman Mr. Bonface Tenai has asked Nandi residents to continue observing Covid-19 protocols so as to be on the safer side.
Tenai revealed that the third wave of Covid-19 is there and is real thus residents should be on the lookout by keenly adhering to the protocols that have been put in place.
He urged them to be keeping social distance wherever they are, regular washing of hands with water and soap and continuous wearing of their masks in a bid to fight the pandemic which is hitting hard.
The unionists also reminded the locals to turn up in large numbers to take the Covid-19 jabs/vaccination in their various health facilities across Nandi, as the saying goes, “prevention is better than cure”.
The vaccination process has been devolved to counties whereby every person is required to visit his or her sub-county hospital to be vaccinated against the disease.
“Covid-19 vaccine is safe for human life as it has been tested and used with no side effects, thus those with wrong perceptions should stop and visit health facilities to receive the jab for the betterment of their lives.” He added.
A number of Kenyans have been found or caught flouting the Covid-19 protocols thus it is high time they start following these rules without any failure to be on the safer side.
In Nandi, more than a thousand people including front-line workers, security, teachers and the elderly have been vaccinated and no cases of complications have been reported so far thus the vaccine is safe for human life.
