West Media Company has been for a long time on the forefront of helping the needy in the society from different places especially in Western Kenya where it enjoys massive listenership and viewership.
The recent one is Webuye Mumbo FM Salaams club CBO led by their chairman David Makhanu who identified mama Grace Munialo of Lukhuna village, Ndivisi ward in Webuye East Sub County who is a member of Kikwechi Mumbo Salaams club whose house was in a bad shape and decided to build her a better house.
Speaking to West Media, Mr. Makhanu said they have started the initiative of constructing houses for their less privileged members as a way of giving back to the community and making sure that every member lives in good environment and added that fulfilling the call of the government of good housing as its one of the big four agenda of Jubilee government.
Makhanu added that the project will continue and asked well wishers and people of good will who would wish to support the initiative to join them so that they can continue helping the community and change the lives of people so that each person can have a sense of belonging and said that there are many people living in regrettable conditions which can attract different diseases especially during this Covid-19 pandemic and the rain season.
He called upon residents of Webuye East and Bungoma County as a whole who are not in the groups to join Mumbo FM Salaams clubs so that they can steer development together.
They also said they have a plan of supporting education and soon they will roll out a program and see that every child of Mumbo FM member who cannot afford to pay school fees is in school and appealed to parents to make sure that they take good care of their children while at home now during this holiday so that when schools open they will be in good health to continue with their education.
The issue of Covid-19 was not left behind as they asked each member to continue adhering to health regulations in order to prevent themselves from contracting.
