Kenyan leaders have been asked to invest heavily in the health sector to gap the spread of endangering diseases like Covid-19.

Speaking during the dedication of a new cathedral building of Christ the King Parish in Bungoma town, Machakos Bishop who also served in Bungoma Diocese his eminence Norman King’oo Wambua said that leaders should take the medical sector seriously echoing how Corona Virus has limited leaders from seeking treatment in overseas countries.

”We need to take Corona Virus as an example now, we are limited to fly to foreign countries for medication” said Wambua.

The dedication of the new building that cost more than Kshs .100.20 Million was officially graced by his Excellency Archbishop Hurbutus Matheus Maria Van Megan who is the Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and South Sudan.

The new structure which has the capacity of more than 2500 faithful has drawn the attention of many considering the cost of construction.

During the service, Bishop Hurbutus  annointed the altar with holy chrism as per the culture of the Roman Catholic church making it a symbol of Christ.

Several area leaders led by Bungoma County Governor Wyclifee Wangamati, Senator Moses Wetangula, Devolution CS Eugine Wamalwa and Kanduyi legislator Wafula Wamunyinyi and his Bumula counterpart Mwambu Mabonga applauded the tireless efforts by the host priest Rev. Father Christopher Wanyonyi.

” This church will forever remain in the history of many” said Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.
