A rare pandemonium ensued in Mufutu village, Lugari sub location in Lugari Sub County after an African Divine Church (ADC) cleric was caught pants down while having an affair with one of the residents’ wife in what has been termed as his regular nocturnal escapades.
The suspect identified as Samuel Munjosi was confronted by the woman’s elder son after realizing that there was unusual commotions in their house thanks to his sister who raised the alarm and upon the sons move to inquire what was happening, the honey thief pastor tried to attack him in retaliation but was overpowered by the young man who unleashed uncountable blows and kicks to the prelate before he managed to slip away into the nearby sugarcane plantation but was seized by the neighbors who had woken up to inquire the happenings and alter subjected to more thrashing where he agreed to have been a regular visitor to the house to deliver his daily nocturnal goodies to the wife.
According to the son, Arnold Lumilia, the wayward man of clothe has been sneaking around to their home and after several reports, they decided to lay a trap that bore fruits at last pitting the pastor against the mercy of the neighbors who had every intentions of squeezing his last breath out of him but was saved by good neighbors who took him to the nearby Frank police station as angry mob bayed for his blood.
“The pastor was naked on my dad’s bed. He wanted to fight me but I was armed and beat him up before he escaped through the backdoor. Neighbors came and tied him, “he said.
After recording a statement at Frank police station the victim was taken to a private clinic at Lugari station market for treatment.
According to Mr. Charles Mulongo, he has three wives but he received a call around 11 pm while in his third wife’s house that his son had caught a man having an affair with his wife in front of the children.
“After receiving reports that my wife Eunice Mutembei was caught with a man in my matrimonial bed, I left immediately and decided to take away the children since according to the Abamuchi clan of Kabras, traditions demand we must conduct rituals for the children to live healthy. This is lack of respect and diminishing to the family. Our traditions do not allow this behavior. The woman has been inviting his secret lover in my absence. The children got tired of this immorality and decided to set a trap for them,” he said.
He says the pastor was fined a sheep, a cow and money by the elders but he was not in a position to pay.
“I pleaded with the elders to reduce the charges since detaining him was raising my anger and I could beat him up. He has been told to pay Kshs. 2000,” said Mulongo.
Mr. Mulongo has vowed never to allow the wife to come back to his home saying he had gifted her to the pastor.
According to the Mulongos mother Rose Lumilia, the pastor was apprehended naked on her son’s bed.
“My son was away at night and we found a man taken over his house. He was sleeping on his bed and even packed his motorbike in the house. My grandson informed his siblings who bet the man, tied him with a rope before dragging him to the police station,” she said.
She added “He must be compelled to pay a sheep which should be slaughtered for the cleansing ceremony of the whole family. This behavior is demeaning to women. We need to respect ourselves, husband and be disciplined. Let’s be a good example to our children and play our roles accordingly,” said the granny
A neighbor, Saul Ambani says the incident is shocking and the man of God must be dealt with according to culture.
