St. Joseph’s Girls secondary school Kitale posted an impressive performance in the 2020 KCSE to emerge the best school in Trans Nzoia County.
During the release of today’s KCSE Examinations Educations Cabinet Secretary George Magoha termed the school as second most improved school and it was 13 nationally, had 287 candidates posted a mean score of 9.95 an improvement from 6.7 in 2019 with 242 candidates.
“We finished the syllabus before Covid 19 broke. We kept engaging the learners via digital learning when learning was distributed,” said the school’s principal Rosebella Orwaru.
She also noted that there was high level of discipline among students and that there was no act of indiscipline cases witnessed as each student worked together in counseling one of their own who was found in mistakes was reprimanded.

The school which is an extra county school has beaten the giants’ schools in Transnzoia County National School ST Joseph’s Boys and their counterparts ST Anthony’s Boys who in the past have been performing well in KCSE.
The two schools have had no celebrations and the two principals did not release their results on time claiming they were still compiling.
The school outshone also a national school St. Brigid’s Girls Kiminini with 9.94, Lugulu Girls 9.3 and Friends School Kamusinga 9.2.
