A middle aged woman from Lunyito village in Lugari sub location, Lugari Sub County is nursing serious machete injuries she sustained after an armed thug invaded her compound at night.
Confirming the incident Lugari location chief Evans Adavaji said the thug who was armed with a machete invaded Ms. Agnes Nambande’s compound a few minutes past midnight where he managed to gain entry into her house after digging a hole beneath the door.
He said the victim who lives alone was deep a sleep and she woke up when the man had already entered her house.
The assailant attacked her with the machete leaving her with serious injuries on the head and hands before he vanished into the dark without stealing anything from her.
Ms. Nambande raised an alarm attracting attention of neighbors who responded immediately to her distress call and rushed her to a private hospital at the Lugari station market.
Adavaji said security officers in the area have launched investigations into the incident with an aim of arresting the attacker and establishing the motive behind the incident.
