Police in Lugari are investigating an incident where a 17 year old secondary school student allegedly aborted her eight-month-old foetus and buried it in Mufutu village Lugari location.
According to the suspect’s aunt Mrs. Juliet Anzenze, she was shocked after she discovered the girl without the pregnancy over the weekend.
On inquiry from her colleagues, she was informed that on Friday while in school, the form two student in Mufutu secondary school was bleeding and even collapsed in class.
Mrs. Anzenze said after pressing her hard to explain what happened to the pregnancy she disclosed that she had procured an abortion and buried the foetus in a banana plantation.
The aunt reported the incident to the local administrators and the area volunteer children officer Lydia Miyawa who exhumed the decomposing foetus.
They later informed officers from Frank police station that visited the scene and took the foetus with the mother as they launched investigations into the incident.
