Members of Busia County Assembly have finalized the debate on Governor Sospeter Ojaamong’s state of the County address with hope that the County is headed in the right direction.
A number of the MCAs lauded governor Ojaamong for initiating several development projects in the County.
Angurai East MCA Joab Etyang Oteba said the Health sector has realized a lot of transformation with modern facilities installed in almost all health institutions across the county.
‘’It’s the address of hope for the residents, “said Oteba
Oteba, however, urged the Executive to address the issue of Non Communicable Diseases in the County by allocating resources to contain it instead of allowing the donor community to fund the Directorate.
‘’Close to 50 percent of beds in major health institutions are occupied by patients with NCDs such as blood pressure, diabetes and cancer among others. Such diseases can be avoided by talking to people to change their lifestyles.’’ He added
The MCA’s remarks were, however, dismissed by some county residents a few minutes later.
‘’Health sector has realized untransformed facilities stalled in virtually all health institutions. You visit county hospitals and you are told to go and buy drugs outside. No gloves, no electricity, no water in hospitals and the praise and worship team led by MCAs are fooling us. ’’ He posed.
