Members of the Pambazuka Mumbo FM salaams club, a West Media company owned radio station, have come to the rescue of a widow in Sirende village, Lugari sub location Lugari Sub County who is living in pathetic condition.
Led by their chairman Isaac Nyongesa the members donated iron sheets to Ms. Rachel Khavetsa who is living in a tiny single roomed mud walled kitchen after allegedly being haunted and chased from the main house by the spirits of her dead husband.
The members pitied the condition the widow has been living in saying she needed a new decent house.
The chairman said the donation is part of the humanitarian assistance that the group offers to its needy members.
According to Khavetsa she has been through hell since her husband died in 2005 experiencing extraordinary incidents.
She said whenever she slept in the main house she could be attacked by her husband’s ghost which tried strangling her on several occasions warning her against sleeping in the house and on his bed.
She said she was forced to move to the kitchen where she sleeps peacefully on the floor without any interference.
She said her son who could help her left for Nairobi with his wife several years ago leaving her with five grandchildren but he never cares about the family.
“I have left my grandchildren to sleep in the main house as I sleep in the kitchen although their parents don’t care about them,” said the granny.
