Vihiga Governor Dr.Wilber Ottichilo has dismissed four County Executive Committee members (CEC) who were last week impeached by the County Assembly.
Amos Kutwa (Health) Paul Mbuni (Lands) Pamela Kimwele (Public Service and Administration) and Kenneth Keseko (Trade and industrialization) are the four shown the exit.
The County boss noted that he fired them in compliance with the resolution of the County Assembly, which directed them of abuse of office, incompetence, and gross misconduct.
“I have complied and immediately effected the dismissal of mentioned CECs following the resolution of the County Assembly of Vihiga.” he said.
“I have complied pursuant to Section 31(b) as read together with Sections 40(a), (b), (c) and (d) and (5b) and 6(a) and (b) of the County Government Act as amended by the County Government Act, 2020,” he noted.
Ottichilo added that the developments made it necessary to reshape his government to ensure continued service delivery to the people of Vihiga.
Alfred Indeche (Finance), Henry Lumbasio (Education), Prof Justus Inonda (Transport and Infrastructure), Ms Mary Amalemba (Water) and Felistas Baraza Sports retaining their dockets.
All Chief Officers were moved to new departments and the County boss immediately filled the four positions with officers who will serve in acting capacity to enable smooth running of his government.
