Businessman Ken Muyundo has been arraigned in Kitale court over counts of attempted murder of the lady Phanice Chemutai that was mistaken to be Carolyne Kangongo who is being sought by police over claims of murdering two men.

Last Friday the suspect was arrested by police over allegations of attempted murder of the lady Phanice Chemutai and that she was shot in the lower abdomen.

The accused however denied counts of attempted murder before resident magistrate Julius Ng’arNg’ar.

While being represented by his lawyer  Cliff Ombeta claimed his client was sick and could not stand trial in the court, he was taken back to the hospital for further medication claiming his client never attempted to kill the lady as claimed by most social media that he accused of defaming his client’s name.

The accuser however was not in court as she was undergoing medication at Kitale level four hospital.

The accused was given Kshs 200,000 cash bail or Kshs 500,000 bond with similar amounts of surety and is expected back in court on 28th July 2021 for mention.

The case comes days after the family of the accuser has pleaded with the state for Justice as one of their kin was attacked by a wealthy businessman.

The lady has since denied having been in relationship with the accused or ever knowing him noting that she received the phone call requesting her to meet the accused at Kiminini market and that upon arriving at the location she was attacked by the accuser.
