A somber mood engulfed Makutano village in Marakusi sub location Lugari Sub County after the body of a 40 year old man was discovered in his cousin’s house.
The body of Evans Mutange who died under unclear circumstances was discovered by Mr. Francis Amiani who was surveying his sugarcane plantation near the house.
According to Amiani, after surveying the farm he saw the main door to the house wide open and decided to check on his friend.
However, on knocking on the door severally without response he decided to enter and found him sitting on a chair in the sitting room.
“I thought he was deep asleep and tried to call him severally but he didn’t answer. I alerted other neighbors who came and confirmed he was dead,” said Amiani.
According to the deceased’s aunt Ms. Ebby Agengo her nephew who had been hired by his cousin to take care of his property was living alone in the compound adding that he was a habitual drunkard and it could be the cause of his death.
The body was removed by officers from Lumakanda police station and taken to Kimbilio mortuary in the neighbouring Uasin Gishu County for postmortem to establish the cause of his death as the officers launched investigations into the incident.
