A sorrowful mood has enveloped Mbaya village in Lumakanda location Lugari Sub County after the body of a 40 year old man was retrieved from a well that serves three schools and the neighboring community.
According to the owner Mr. Ezekiel Jengo, the body was discovered after a young boy who was going to buy milk from his compound passed near the well and saw a sack, cap and a bottle dumped near it.
The young boy became suspicious and informed Mr. Jengo’s farmhand before he rushed back home and also informed his parents.
They went to the scene where on looking inside they saw an object that resembled a human body floating on the water before reporting the incident at the Lumakanda police station.
Officers from the station visited the scene where with the help of locals they managed to retrieve the body which was later identified to be that of David Tuuti a resident of the neighboring Kona Mbaya village.
According to neighbors, the deceased was last seen Monday evening at the Lumakanda hospital where he was taken for treatment after falling sick and it’s not clear how he left the hospital before his body was found in the well.
