Fear has gripped residents of Turbo village in Seregeya sub location Likuyani Sub County after they found a male body with missing parts dumped in a thicket in the area

The body which had been split into two parts without the head was discovered by children who were fetching firewood near the thicket.

According to Mzee Isaiah Adenya his grandchildren who had gone to fetch for firewood got concerned after discovering dogs scrambling for something inside the thicket  and when they moved closer to establish what it was, they were shocked to find the canines devouring a piece of human body from the waist downwards.

“They rushed back to inform me and since I had heard a report of a missing man from the neighboring Kampi Miwa village, I informed his family who came and identified the body,” said Mzee Adenya.

According to the deceased’s mother Mrs. Irene Osore, her son went missing on 12th July, 2021 after telling his friends that he was going to wash his clothes in the nearby  Sossian River.

“After failing to return we launched a search for him thinking he had drowned and for the past one week we have camped along the river searching for him unsuccessfully before receiving the information of the body that had been dumped in a thicket,” said the mother.

She said despite the head missing,  from the trouser and shoes found on the body she could identify it to be that of her 56 year old son Boniface John Ywaya.

The family has camped in the area searching for the other missing part to enable it begin burial arrangements as it appeals for thorough investigations into the heinous act and ensure suspects face full wrath of law.

Residents have termed the incident worrying, saying they feared being attacked. “We have never witnessed such an incident in this area. We are appealing to police to increase patrols to protect us from criminal gangs,” they said.

Confirming the incident, area sub county police Commander Bernard Ngungu appealed to area residents to provide information that may help in nabbing the killers.

The body piece  was moved to Kimbilio funeral home in the neighboring Uasin Gishu county.
