One person was burnt beyond recognition while two others sustained serious injuries following a road accident that involved three vehicles at the Nzoia Bridge near Kaburengu trading center along Eldoret – Webuye highway.
The Sunday, October 30, accident involved a cargo truck, tipper-truck and a private car.
According to the eye witnesses the accident occurred after a cargo truck that was travelling towards Webuye developed brakes failure while descending the steep Chimoi slope ramming into the two other vehicles.
The impact caused the truck to burst into flames with the fire spreading tremendously burning its driver who was trapped inside.
The tipper-truck which was ferrying construction materials veered off the road before overturning while the private car was hit and thrown several meters from the road.
The drivers of the other two vehicles escaped with minor injuries and were rescued and rushed to Webuye sub county hospital while the remains of the deceased were taken to the mortuary at the same facility.
