A somber mood has engulfed Turbo village in Tapsagoi location Turbo sub county following brutal murder of a 19 year old woman whose body was discovered dumped on the railway lines Friday morning.
The body of Faith Cherop was discovered by a resident who was walking along the railway lines heading to buy milk at Turbo market.
According to the deceased’s sister in-law Mary Cheron the body which was naked had visible injuries on the head and was bleeding from nose and mouth indicating that she might have been hit by a blunt object.
“I found my sister in-law’s body dumped here totally naked, with injuries on her head,” said Cherono adding that it’s suspected that she was killed elsewhere before the body was carried and dumped at the scene.
Cherop’s close friend Mercy Waithera said the deceased has been in bad terms with her lover only identified as Steve who had threatened to kill the two of them.

“On Wednesday Steve threatened to kill Faith and I accusing us of stealing his phone, he said he will be eliminating us one by one and indeed a day later my friend has been brutally murdered. I know my life is in danger too since Steve hasn’t been seen here to prove his innocence yet he vowed to kill both of us,” said Waithera.

Officers from Turbo Riverside police station removed the body and took it to Kimbilio mortuary as they launched investigations into the incident.
