Police in Likuyani Sub County have launched a manhunt for kidnappers who are alleged to have kidnapped a form two student at St. Joseph’s Lumino secondary school.
The student is believed to have been kidnapped immediately after leaving their compound for school on Wednesday morning.
According to the victim’s parents Maurice Wangila and Alice Nanjala their son Collins Nyongesa left for school at around 6am but didn’t return in the evening for them to launch a search.
They were however shocked to get his school and shoes dumped near the fence with a note written with a pen placed next to the bag.
The note which was written in Swahili read “ Tumemchukua akiwa hai wakati ukifika tutamregesha akiwa yu hai. Au Kitale show ground..karibu..tumeshukuru”

The incident has been strongly condemned by residents appealing for quick intervention to save the student and ensure the culprits are brought to book.
Officers from Matunda and Likuyani police station have launched investigations into the incident.
