A man from Navava village, in Lwandeti Lugari location, Matete Sub County of Kakamega County has astounded relatives and villagers by digging his own grave, threatening to commit suicide.
Confirming the incident, Lwandeti sub location assistant Chief Thomas Luvonga said George Amagalu went berserk after realizing his father David Amagalu had sold his 0.3 an acre piece of land without his knowledge.
Mr. Luvonga said the father of six had gone to Nairobi to look for a job only to return home and found his only piece of land sold.
“Upon being informed that the land no longer belonged to him, he ran mad, took a hoe and started digging the grave threatening to kill himself and be buried there,” said Mr. Luvonga.
It took the intervention of the assistant Chief who rushed to the scene and managed to cool down the man and convinced him to refill the grave.
Mr. Luvonga said he had summoned Mzee Amagalu to his office to explain why he had sold his son’s piece of land.
“Necessary action will be taken after listening to the two parts,” said the local administrator.
