Students at Nyangori Boys High School in Vihiga County who tried to burn one of the Dormitories at the School are being held at Serem police station.
According to the Board of management at the institution Mr. Hudson Aluvanze the seventeen boys tried to burn down the dormitory but their effort was thwarted by fellow students who immediately reported the incident to the management.
He said the incident happened at 2am when other students were asleep, noting that programs at the school are going on normally.
Aluvanze said he has advised parents to remain calm adding that the situation has been contained.
He said the students who were involved in the incident are being investigated and appropriate measures will be taken.
