A cloud of sorrow hang over Sinoko village in Koromaiti sub location, Lugari Sub County after the body of a man believed to have been brutally murdered was discovered decomposing in an unused well.
According to Mr. Daniel Ngoole Musyoki the body was discovered following an odorous smell that was coming from his brother’s well which had dried up during this dry season.
“There’s a resident who was passing near the well and smelled the odor before he informed me since my brother doesn’t stay around,” said Musyoki.
He said at first they thought it was carcasses from a cow that had been stolen in the neighbourhood about two weeks ago after parts of the in-calf heifer which is believed to have been slaughtered at night by unknown people were found strewn in the village.
John Nalianya offered to descend in the well to establish the source of the smell only to be shocked to discover it was a man’s body.

“The assailants threw body inside and covered it with soil, I was forced to remove the soil before I discovered it was a human body,” said Nalianya
Confirming the incident, Lugari Deputy County Commissioner William Lenaremo said the body had been identified to be of a resident of Mayoyo village in the neighbouring Lwandeti location in Matete.
It’s alleged that the deceased went missing about one and a half week ago and his killers have been using his phone to communicate with family members and friends through text messages claiming that he had gotten a job in Nakuru where he was working but could only communicate through texts.
The body was removed by officers from Lumakanda police station and taken to Kimbilio funeral home in the neighbouring Uasin Gishu county as they launched investigations into the incident.
