A family in Lugulu village, Mawe Tatu sub location Likuyani sub county has been forced to spend nights in cold after a fierce inferno razed down their house.

According to Benson Kiliswa the fire whose cause has not been established broke out at around 9:30 am when he had left to look for animals’ feeds.

“I had just left to get feeds for my animals when my daughter in-law called and informed me that my house was on fire,” explained Kiliswa.

He said the fire which started from the bedroom spread tremendously thwarting efforts by neighbors who had responded to their distress call to try and put it off.

Mzee Kiliswa said nothing was salvaged from the house estimating the total damage to cost over Ks. 450,000.

“All household property, including furniture, two televisions, vital documents, clothes, cash among other items have all been reduced to ashes,” said Kiliswa adding that he was only been left with the clothe he was putting on.

His wife Rose Khaoma who is a church leader said she had gone for a church work when she received the shocking news.

She said she never light fire in the house and that it was shocking how it broke out from inside the house.

The family is now appealing for well-wishers to come to their aid and help put up a new house as well as get basic needs after losing everything .
