A sorrowful mood has enveloped Nyali village in Soy sub location in Likuyani sub county after the body of a 37 year old man was discovered dumped in a terrace in one of the residents’ farm.
Confirming the incident Soy sub location assistant chief Bonivanture Lugado said the body of Michael Kiprotich was discovered by a resident who was passing near the terrace Sunday morning.
“There’s a woman who was going to buy milk in the morning and passed near the terrace which is in a swampy area before he discovered the body which had been dumped in a shallow water in the terrace,” said Lugado.
According to the deceased’s mother Esther Chepkro she last saw her son Friday afternoon and he is said to have spent the whole of Saturday with his friends shelling maize in one of the resident’s compound before his body was discovered Sunday morning.
Chepkro is appealing for thorough investigations into the incident to establish the cause of her son’s death.
Lugado said the body had no visible injuries and the cause of his death has not yet been established.
The body was removed by officers from Likuyani police station and taken to Kimbilio funeral home for postmortem to establish the cause of his death as they launched investigations into the incident.
