Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki has resigned.
Kariuki is eyeing the Nyandarua governor seat in the August General Election.
Sicily Kariuki has served in the water docket since January 2020. She previously served as the Cabinet Secretary for Health. Previously, she was the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs, from December 2015 until January 2018.
Elsewhere, Nakuru East DCC Eric Wanyonyi has also resigned.
Wanyonyi is eyeing Kabuchai parliamentary seat in the coming August Election.
According to IEBC, all civil servants seeking elective seats are supposed to resign six months to elections.
MCAs eyeing parliamentary seats have got reprieve after IEBC in a letter dated 9th Feb 2022, indicated that they should resign before submitting nomination papers to IEBC and not as Wednesday’s 9th deadline like other civil servants.
