A 34 year old man slashed his 85 year old uncle to death in Changamwe village, Kulumbeni sub location in Matete, Kakamega County over witchcraft allegations.

Confirming the incident Chevaywa location chief Alex Goricho said the suspect Wamunga Neulula waylaid his uncle Abdi Ekesa Muya while returning home in the evening and attacked him with a machete killing him on the spot after he accused the octogenarian of bewitching him.

According to the suspect, the uncle had bewitched him not to stay in peace with his wife whom they have always been in constant fight.

After killing the old man, Wamunga went straight to his in-laws’ compound with the intention of killing his wife but luckily he didn’t find her.

After failing to trace his wife he dumped the machete he had used to kill his uncle in his father in-law’s compound before surrendering himself to area assistant chief Manasseh Watambamala.
