A known man from Bunjosi village in Webuye West Sub County was killed by mob justice at wee hours after he was found stealing sheep at Lugulu village in Webuye East Sub County that belonged to an old widow.
Some villagers who sought anonymity said the deceased was found by some youths who were coming from the funeral at night and got the man laying the sheep on a crate that had been tied on a motorcycle and when he was questioned, he failed to explain how he got the sheep that unusual time instead tried to escape and was overpowered by the youth, while still interrogating him the old widow came running looking for her sheep and that was when hell broke loose and the man was beaten mercilessly by the rowdy youths.
The deceased cry for forgiveness fell on deaf ears and after thorough beatings he was set on fire with his motorcycle where he was burnt beyond recognition.
The police arrived at the scene and took his remains to Webuye County Hospital morgue as investigation into the matter is launched.
The deceased is alleged to be a serial thief for a long time escaping the fury of the community.
