Senate speaker and first Governor of Bungoma County Ken Makelo Lusaka has officially joined Ford Kenya party and will be vying for the Bungoma County gubernatorial seat on the party ticket after being officially received by the party leader Moses Wetangula.
Addressing a mammoth jubilated crowd at Posta grounds in Bungoma, Lusaka said he decided to join Ford Kenya party as it carries the hopes of people of Western Kenya as well as Bungoma saying those who have led the party have proved so.
He added that coming back to vie for the seat has been triggered by the lamentations of the people of Bungoma County saying farmers were getting 700 bags of fertilizer in each ward but the number has since been reduced to 230.
Hon Lusaka further said under his reign business people used to access loans to boost their businesses saying if given an opportunity he will help them.
Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula said he is satisfied that Bungoma County needs Lusaka back saying the current leadership has not been able to fulfill the needs of residents.
He further said under Kenya Kwanza, Kenyans will be assured of proper and structured leadership which will be able to uplift them from their current status saying many are suffering in the current hard economic times.
Others who have shown interest in the seat include Zack Barasa, Peter Khakina and Sophie Nekoye.
