An Eleven months old baby died after drowning in a basin of water in Mbagara, Mautuma location, Lugari Sub County.
Confirming the incident, Mautuma location chief Pamela Davava Kulali said the deceased’s mother Milka Masitsa was washing clothes before she left to fetch water in a nearby stream leaving the baby playing with her two year old brother outside their house.
She said on returning from the stream Masitsa who stays with her grandmother found her baby bending in a basin of water and when she went to pick her up she was shocked to find her dead.
The family is yet to come to terms with the sudden death of the minor.
The body was removed by officers from Turbo police station and taken to Kimbilio mortuary in the neighbouring Uasin Gishu County for postmortem to establish the cause of her death.
