The incumbent Nandi hills MP Alfred Keter has won the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party primaries conducted on Tuesday 19th April.
Keter garnered atotal of 10,263 votes against his closest opponent Bernard Kitur who got 7,468 votes.
Kitur had been endorsed by a section of Ruto’s allies who were after ensuring by all means that MP Keter fails to clinch the UDA ticket.
Ruto’s allies led by Kapseret MP Oscah Sudi, Soy Mp Caleb Kositany and Didmus Barasa of Kimilili who publicly campaigned against the MP, had asked voters to vote him out during the party nominations.
Other contestants included; Robert Chepkwony alias Fifty Fifty, garnered 2,539 votes, George Tarus 425 votes, Abraham Limo 540 and Irine Chemutai 388 respectively.
A total of 21,767 voters out of the 51,393 voters participated in the primaries.
Keter while speaking with the press thanked the voters for having faith in him to lead them despite all odds telling off his enemies that God is power and no one can change it whatsoever.
