Nand Hills MP Alfred Keter has declared that he will be vying on an independent ticket in the coming August general elections after his UDA nomination ticket win was overturned.
Keter cited that the power of the people of Nandi Hills will remain intact and thus will vie independently for Nandi Hills constituency.
Keter who was declared a winner of the UDA party nominations held on 19th April after garnering over ten thousand votes against his closest opponent Bernard Kitur, was later nullified by the party on grounds that it was marred by irregularities and that Kitur won thus the party issued the interim nominee certificate to Kitur.
The MP has accepted the party’s fate and that he will be on the ballot come August polls using independent ticket therefore urged his electorates not to lose hope but fight till the end assuring them of victory come August polls.
Nandi Hills residents who voted for Keter during UDA party nominations were astonished by the party’s directive to revoke his win and accorded his opponent saying they cannot be misled by the party scrupulous dealers and thus will stand with their MP come rain come sunshine.
After the breaking of the news on his overturned victory, residents took to the streets to protest the party’s move chanting “hatupangwingwi, no Keter no Ruto” to show their disappointments.
Nandi Hills electorates have vowed to vote for Keter come August general elections in a bid to show Ruto that their rights cannot be short changed by any body whatsoever.
