Brighton Kivutia from Lugari station village in Lugari Sub County who scored 352 in 2020 and decided to repeat class eight in 2021 for lack of school fees and managed to get 388 marks is at risk of failing to continue with secondary education for lack of fees.
Kivutia is expected to join Maseno School but his ailing parents are unable to cater for his secondary education.
“I’m calling on well-wishers or government institutions to help me continue with my education and achieve my dream of being a doctor,” he noted.
His father John Simiyu said he was in and out of hospital every time because of various health complications and that had drained all his resources.
“I’m sickly and sold most of my family property to cater for medical expenses. If anyone can help my son continue with his education I will be grateful to God. He’s determined and if helped he can perform well,” said Simiyu.
Simiyu said his son, who dreams to be a doctor, was patient enough to repeat class 8 at Lugari Township Primary after his good performance in 2020.
Jenepher Abwao, teacher at Lugari Township Primary said Kivutia was a bright and disciplined student that needed to be assisted to achieve his education dream.
