Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga toured Bungoma County in Tongaren and Webuye East Constituencies with a clear promise of proper health care for all through his dubbed plan of Baba Care where he says when he will be elected in the August polls he will make sure he prioritizes health by making sure that all hospitals and health facilities have enough medicine and health workers.
He said he plans his government to have everyone on NHIF which will be paid by the government so that they can get medical services anytime they are sick and this is aimed at reducing death rate.
“When I take over from my friend Uhuru Kenyatta, I want everyone to be covered by national insurance fund that will be footed by our government so that whether you are rich or poor when sick you can get medical services from whichever hospital, because all will have enough medicine and health workers who will help you,” said Odinga.
Odinga reiterated his commitment to make sure that less privileged families will be getting Kenya shilling six thousand per month to sustain them from his government and those who will be targeted are poor single mothers whom he says are going through hard times bringing up their families.
He also promised to reduce the cost of fertilizer from the current six thousand to two thousand saying farmers from Western region are suffering yet Western is the food basket of the nation and if not well taken care of the whole country could face starvation in future.
He asked the Bungoma residents to come out in large numbers come 9th August to vote for all Azimio La Umoja One Kenya alliance candidates so that they take over from the current regime and propel the country to better economic status.
He criticized the Kenya Kwanza coalition economic model saying it can’t help any Kenyan and appealed to Kenyans to reject them adding that some of the leaders in Kenya Kwanza are facing corruption charges and therefore can’t be trusted to fight corruption.
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed said Raila has really fought for this country and deserves to be the fifth President adding that Kenyans are enjoying democracy and devolution courtesy of Raila Odinga.
Waluke said he decided to decamp from UDA which is part of Kenya Kwanza coalition because he realized that Raila is winning and therefore could not afford being in opposition for the sake of development of the people of Sirisia and Bungoma County as a whole.
“If we want development then I ask you my good Bungoma people to vote for Mzee Raila Odinga because we can’t afford to be in opposition and I am here to assure him of our support of the Sirisia people,” said Waluke
Raila was accompanied by a host of leaders especially from Western Kenya among them Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, his Bungoma counterpart Wycliffe Wangamati, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, Tongaren MP Dr. Eseli Simiyu, Sirisia MP John Koyi Waluke among others who drummed support for their Azimio candidate Raila Odinga.
