Bungoma civil society members have been sensitized on the roles of the media and how to enhance their relationship with them so as to have a harmonious working relationship.
Media Council of Kenya Western region coordinator Teddy Evans says especially during this period as we gear up to the general election the civil society needs to understand the responsibilities of the media well so as to address several issues that may come up including intimidation.
He said the Media Council of Kenya has been on the forefront to ensure journalists also carry out their responsibilities in a professional manner saying the roles of Informing, entertaining and educating must be adhered to.
Philip Wanyonyi, a member of the civil society said after the training they are well versed with the roles of the media and are ready to collaborate with them in ensuring future engagements are well executed.
