Three parliamentary politicians from Webuye West Constituency have decided to bury their differences and support one of them as the only sure way of sending the current MP packing.
John Musundi and John Aspro both from Sitikho ward have decided to shelf their political ambitions and support the UDP candidate Kelly Walubengo whom they believe has what it takes to unseat the incumbent MP Hon. Dan Sitati Wanyama who is seeking for his re-election for third term on UDA party under the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
Addressing the residents of Nabwala village in Sitikho ward at his home after hosting Walubengo, John Musundi said if everyone went alone they may lose but if they support each other by finding the best out of them then it can be a sure bet of winning the forthcoming General Election slated August 9th this year with a landslide and they decided the three of them after scrutinizing each other landed on Walubengo whom he said enjoys the majority support of the ward and other areas outside Sitikho ward and they will walk with him to sell his political agenda for the change to come to Webuye West Constituency.
” It was not easy to make this happen, we took longer hours discussing, sometimes we could leave without agreeing but after burning long midnight oil we settled on our brother Kelly Walubengo and he has what it takes to transform this Constituency and take it to another level, we have been stagnant for long and we really need change because we realized if everyone goes his way we will surely loose so I appeal to you my people of Sitikho ward and by extension those who believed in me and had hope in me to support this course because a win for Kelly Walubengo is my win, is our brother John Aspro’s win and it’s our win,” said Mr. Musundi.
However, even as John Aspro’s name was being dangled he was missing in action something that puts the agreement in doubt but again our calls could not be picked for his comment about the same.
If this is true then Kelly Walubengo has had the boost in his political career and he addressed the swollen crowd, he assured them that they’re on the right track and if given an opportunity by the electorates on 9th then he will transform the Constituency.
Walubengo affirmed that he is committed to the task and therefore him being given an opportunity by his political brothers is a milestone that won’t be taken lightly and asked the supporters of the two politicians to find it well to support him.
“We have to change the narrative of our Constituency, we have a lot that hasn’t been done and we came together for the sake of improving the lives of our people and if we join hands we will be assured of success and therefore finds the two Johns in me and support me just like you wanted to support them if they were picked,” said Walubengo.
However, critics have laughed off the union saying it doesn’t hold water as Musundi lost the ground when he left after the last General Elections and has little support from his backyard to give Kelly Walubengo meaningful votes.
On John Aspro’s support Mr. Kibulo who is a resident of Sitikho ward says he has not been on ground for long and that as at now many people have already decided whom to vote for and it was meaningless for anyone to endorse another person adding that Sitikho ward will largely vote for the incumbent and perhaps Peter Munyasi Makali of DAP-K who comes from the village not far from Nabwala and therefore dismissed the union.
