The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chairperson Wafula has announced that voter verification expires on 2rd June 2022 as he added that the official voter register will be gazetted on or before June 9.
Addressing journalists at the Bomas of Kenya on Thursday, Chebukati assured Kenyans that the voters register is safe and has not been tampered with as earlier claimed.
“I want to assure Kenyans that their data is safe, no data has been lost and will be lost, there has been no breach or any form of interference with the register which is under audit, then we shall have a final register on or before 9th,” noted Chebukati.
A total of 22.5 million Kenyans have been registered to participate in the 9th August election and those who will encounter problems with their registration details are otherwise advised to visit the nearest registration centers with the required documents for assistance.
The contestants who had pending cases about the clearance and verification process will have to know their fate on Friday 3rd June after the Commission receives the report from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission ( EACC).
