Eldoret Diocese Catholic Bishop Dominic Kimengich has called upon the President of the Republic of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy President Dr. William Ruto to end their political differences and unite for the betterment of the Nation ahead of the electioneering period.
Kimengich cited that the duo are public figures and should lead as an example to Kenyans since they are the leaders of this Nation thus should end their political differences and speak one voice.
The Bishop said as the country is preparing for the August polls, the two top leaders should be in the fore front preaching peace and bringing Kenyans together not diving them by showcasing good leadership at all times irrespective of their political differences.
He also called on state officials and government to be neutral in their work and avoid taking sides and also shun away from politics because the constitution does not allow them.
Moreover, he has asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to ensure they deliver free, fair and credible elections come 9th August as Kenyans are ready to exercise their democratic right of voting wisely.
