Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has rubbished people saying that him and Musalia were with Raila and nothing has been done in Western Kenya saying they worked with Kibaki government and what they did can be seen and is tangible, adding that as they form the Kenya Kwanza government with DP Ruto there is a lot they have planned to do for Western people hence urged them to support them.
Speaking on West FM during Cross Fire Show, Wetangula revealed that President Uhuru called them and told them that ODM leader Raila Odinga will not be vying hence called them to support BBI, he said that they had several meetings that bore no fruits and realized that it was a delaying tactic hence forced to ask President Uhuru on his successor but never responded only got surprised to see him put it open during the launch of BBI at Bomas, later he told ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi that they were being played after Raila started being treated as a government state man, that was when they decided to look for a coalition that will form the government since Western people have been in opposition for long in the name of supporting Raila.
Wetangula said that they have invested 30 years in Raila and at the end got nothing saying that they have never been paid their parties money from ORPP, he only paid them not even half their money, this made them not to trust him anymore since he showed dishonesty.
He condemned Raila that he has brought nothing for Western people since handshake despite them rallying behind him for this long since he has taken all the development to Nyanza and wondered what Governor Oparanya and other leaders from Western are doing with the selfish Raila.
Wetangula said that the Kenya Kwanza manifesto they launched recently was the best, most radical, most forward looking, revolutionary and a manifesto that is going to change the country since it dwells a lot on a common mwananchi who has been forgotten since independence.
He said that they will be setting aside 1B to support common mwananchi i.e bodaboda, mama mboga, he said agriculture has gone down as he singled out maize flour price that has risen drastically, fertilizer price too has gone up saying in Kenya Kwanza government the fertilizer price will never go above Shs.2500 if it goes above that the government will take the over and above price as a subsidy, he said education was free during Kibaki reign and what is going on now is pitiful, as Kenya Kwanza takes over, education will be free from form 1 to 4, he said students in higher learning institutions are given HELB but paying with interest and when Kenya Kwanza gets into power they will be given 100% of their fees then pay minus interest.
He said that they want to reform the economy of Western region citing that they will be tarmacking extra 1000 km roads within the first 5 years besides those that have stalled. He said that the economy of the region was Nzoia sugar and Mumias sugar therefore Kenya Kwanza will pump money in the factories for revival and write off all the debts, they will bring a new brand mill in Nzoia Sugar same to Mumias so that a farmer can know that Kenya Kwanza government means business, he said that when Kisii and Murang’a have tea factories more than 8 compared to Western region therefore they have plans to put up a tea factory and educate farmers to plant coffee and tea.
Bungoma Senator said that President Uhuru ‘s government has many debts therefore as Kenya Kwanza they will renegotiate with China government to do some bit of debt write off, debt rescheduling to reduce the burden so that money collected in tax to help do development, said they have plans to put up an Inland Container Depot at Malaba border hence spur economy, will reverse the port from Dubai people and said that such can’t be done without public participation and other bodies involvement.
He said that devolution was the cornerstone of the Kenyan constitution therefore they will strengthen it and ensure that County bosses account on the expenditure.
He condemned President Uhuru who said that investigation be done in KEMSA scandal and after 21 days action will be taken and up to now nothing has been done.
Wetangula assured Kenyans that as Kenya Kwanza government takes over there will be no increase of tax on essential commodities.
He regretted how President Uhuru and his handshake partner have left the country in despair and promised that as Kenya Kwanza will revive the economy and Kenyans will not fall victims in small debts that lead them to CRB.
Bungoma Senator showed his contentment that as Kenya Kwanza they are going to win the August polls and as Western people they have been allocated 30% of government slots since they are the shareholders, therefore have Cabinet Secretaries, Permanent Secretaries, Ambassadorial posts and CAS slots plus other projects that will be done minus difficulties.
On corruption, Wetangula said that Kenya Kwanza will deal with corruption minus politicizing it as he singled out the Expressway road as the most corrupt one in the country where the cost of the road was much lower than the money used to construct it. He said that when Kenya Kwanza takes power, democracy will prevail despite being unstable in African countries and denounced the propaganda that DP Ruto will prosecute President Uhuru when he assumes office and assured him that nobody will pursue him but told him that Kenyans don’t want a forced President on them but leave them to decide on their own.
Wetangula said that Ford Kenya as a party has been in war for the last two years by leaders who were misled by Raila Odinga and little finance from the State but said at the moment the party is on the right track hence promised to have majority seats including parties under Kenya Kwanza.
He said that Governor Wangamati during his 2017 manifesto promised to build a factory of milling and packaging flour in Tongaren, Industrial park in Webuye, put up a factory to manufacture and assemble motor bikes in Bumula, revive Kitinda dairy in Bungoma, revive Malaba-Malakisi ginnery in Malakisi, put up a factory for maize and millet in Bokoli, construct a first class stadium, bring back Pan Paper which was taken by Rai and Tim sales. He questioned whether all these have been accomplished and if so, money has been put in good use and if not Wangamati should tell Bungoma people on what happened on implementing the above projects he promised Bungoma residents.
Wetangula said that he can’t tell where their differences started with Bungoma Governor Wangamati but can only recall how Wangamati bragged that he sponsored the coup that was in Ford Kenya saying that he doesn’t play any oversight role but that is the work of MCAs. He said the three; Wamunyinyi, Wangamati and Dr. Eseli are suffering from political turmoil and they can’t say it in public.
He denied the allegations from the County government of Bungoma that he wanted Bungoma Governor to buy him a helicopter as he bragged that he has his own helicopter and rented in Tanzania and he can’t bring it in Kenya since it is generating income for him and if at all he needs support he has his kids who can step in, he termed it as disrespect of the highest order since it is him who introduced Wangamati in Bungoma politics and in fact nominated his father in the parliament.
Wetangula said that as Kenya Kwanza they believe in electronic voting system for it is more reliable than the manual system that brought hitches that were experienced in 2007 and 2017.
Kenya Kwanza Co-principal confidently said that each region in the country is supporting Kenya Kwanza therefore urged Western people to embrace it since it is going to take care of all Kenyans through their Bottom Up Economic model and promised that all Kenyans will have NHIF cards that will cater for all sicknesses.
