Koitalel Samoei University College new Vice Chancellor Professor Winston Agata has called upon the community to invest in housing as a way of preparing accommodation for the students.
Speaking at the Institution, Agata noted that housing in the region was a great problem and the institution does not want to promote the construction of hostels within the University, instead they want to create a synergy with the community to prepare accommodation for students thus have decided to deliberately move to a different direction unlike other universities that build hostels in their premises.
“We do not want to promote hostel construction within the Institution instead; we want to create a synergy with the community to prepare accommodation with our students as a strategy to ensure there is savvy fit and symbiotic relationship between our university and the community.” The VC affirmed.
He revealed that out of the seven hundred students the Institution has only accommodation for two hundred and fifty one students within the university thus there is need for the community to consider investing in housing projects.
Agata moreover added that the institution has managed to make quite a number of milestones since its establishment. It has managed to obtain the relevant land documentation for the hundred hectares in Nandi Hills and fifty one hectares in Mosoriot where it is operating from.
Also the university is in the process of constructing the main campus in Nandi Hills land which is located beside Koitalel Samoei Boys High School when once completed will be relocated.
