Bungoma County is now under stewardship of Ken Makelo Lusaka after taking oath of office together with his deputy Governor Jeniffer Mbatiany at Kibabii University.
Lusaka who until then was the Senate speaker vowed to invest more in the agriculture sector as well as the health sector to enable residents of Bungoma County enjoy the fruits of development.
He asserted that during his tenure as the first governor of Bungoma he bought tractors which helped till land for residents at a subsidized price saying he will revive the program.
He reiterated that in efforts to empower the youths in the County he will re- introduce youth loans that will be given to groups to help uplift their development projects.
However, he said he will have a zero tolerance on corruption saying those working for the County government need to be honest.
Out going governor Wycliffe Wangamati thanked the people of Bungoma County for having granted him an opportunity to serve saying he wishes the Governor well and hoped to have more development projects in the County achieved.
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and other leaders including elected Members of Parliament expressing optimism of the new leadership in the County saying residents are expectant of much.
