The Kiminini Sub-County Ford Kenya party chairman Mr. Benson Simiyu hascomplained over what he termed as biased selection of nominated Members of County Assembly (MCAs) by Ford Kenya leadership.
Addressing residents during a political rally at Nabiswa ward, the agitated Simiyu blamed party leaders for conducting biased selection of nominated MCAs in the region. He said that the process was not conducted constitutionally and the people that have been selected are the same group people that were nominated before.
“This party has a lot of members and we can’t allow same group of people to be selected as nominated MCAs just because they have some relationships with the leaders. We need fair and credible selection of MCAs and I am calling on leaders to change the list that they have submitted to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) before it’s late.” Simiyu Said.
These sentiments were echoed by Nabiswa youth-party representative Isaac Simiyu who called on leaders within the party to uphold transparency towards nomination of Members of County Assembly and other leaders.
Simiyu further called on party members, leaders and voters at large to embrace peace and avoid violence during and after polls on 9th August. He reminded voters of the importance of keeping peace and living in harmony with one another.
