Nandi Senator Samson Cherargey has retained his seat following a re -election for the second time.
Cherargey was elected on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket with 284,373 votes against his opponent Mark Kirwa of Jubilee party who garnered a total of 20,900 votes.
On the other hand, Kilibwoni Ward MCA Cynthia Muge was elected the new Woman representative for Nandi on a UDA ticket with 275,500 votes against her competitors; Stela Ruto (independent) with 21,732, Truphena Korir (Jubilee) with 7,922 votes respectively.
Speaking after receiving their certificates, the duo thanked the electorates for giving them such an opportunity to lead them thus vowed to accomplish all the transformational agenda for the people of Nandi. “We are very thankful for your support, we salute you all.” They affirmed.
Majority of members elected in Nandi are new faces whereby the electorates have confidence in them that they will deliver their mandate to the Nandi people.
