Preparations for tomorrow’s General Election are in top gear in Lugari and Likuyani constituencies.
Speaking to West Media earlier in the day, Returning Officers Jeremiah Kerich for Lugari and his Likuyani counterpart Frederick Odenge said all the materials required for the exercise had already been received.
Odenge said that they were now involved in the distribution of voting materials and polling officials in all the 135 polling stations in the area.
“All officials have been adequately trained and deployed”, they revealed, adding that Lugari constituency has attracted 12 parliamentary candidates and 84 County Representatives.
Lugari constituency has a total of 86,908 registered voters while Likuyani has 72,499 registered voters with 9 parliamentary candidates and 52 County Assembly Representatives.
On his part, Sub County Police Commander Charles Muthui, has pledged full time security to all polling officials and general security in the area to ensure peaceful elections.
Elsewhere, residents have been called upon to ignore propaganda leaflets that were circulated by unidentified people in various parts of Nzoia ward targeting certain sub tribes.
