An unidentified body of a man has been retrieved from Nzoia river in Mlimani village, Lwandeti location Matete Sub County.
According to the acting Lwandeti location chief Thomas Luvonga, the body was discovered by a resident who was surveying his farm near the river in the evening.
He said the body might have been carried by water from elsewhere saying there was no report of a missing person from his area of jurisdiction.
Officers from Matete police station visited the scene and with help of divers from Icare school of First Aid managed to retrieve the body and took it to Webuye hospital mortuary in the neighbouring Bungoma County pending identification and postmortem.
Luvonga has appealed to anyone who might have lost his male adult relative or friend to liaise with police or visit Webuye mortuary and help
