Residents of Mwananchi and Kirenga villages in Kiminini Constituency are living in fear of their school going children and boda boda riders due to a broken bridge that connects a road from Koykoy market to Mwananchi.
Speaking to journalists at Mwananchi market, the residents called on the County government of Trans-Nzoia and Nabiswa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Martin Jemanuru to swiftly repair the bridge which has become a threatening factor to their lives.
Reuben Simiyu, one of the residents at Mwananchi market lamented over poor infrastructure in the area and blamed the previous administration of Trans Nzoia County for the failure of development in the County which led to bad road network, poor electricity coverage and various factors that made the County lag behind in matters development compared to other Counties.
They pleaded with the newly elected leaders of Trans Nzoia County to join hands and provide better services to the people.
They further reminded leaders as they take oaths of offices to remain faithful to the promises they made during campaigns by putting emphasis on the construction of good roads, connection of electricity, financing of youths and women enterprises, financing of education to the needy students through equal allocation of bursaries amongst other projects.
