Despite Kenya being among the countries with a great number of large infrastructural projects across the continent meant to improve key sectors like transport, agricultural, power and energy or even industrial it is saddening that some part of the country still suffers from poor infrastructure.

With regard to the poor state of infrastructure, impassable roads in Tongaren constituency and a good number of households with no electricity, the area Member of Parliament elect Dr. John Murumba Chikati has assured locals that he has plans to improve infrastructural projects and make Tongaren more attractive not only to live in but also bring in investors.

Addressing residents in his area, Dr.Chikati said in the next three months his team will be deployed on the ground to ensure that every household has access to electricity even as he strives to improve the living standards of the people and creating more opportunities for them.

With the poor state of the impassable roads like Sikhendu-Naitiri and Mfupi- Mukuyuni constituency’s headquarter offices, the Member of Parliament elect promised to tarmarck a number of them as he looks forward to offering long term solutions.

This comes amid complaints from locals regarding the poor state of public utilities across the constituency, with boda boda operators from various stages threatening to demonstrate lest relevant authorities steps in to offer long term solutions.

A section of the Misikhu-Naitiri road from Ndivisi bridge linking Webuye East constituency and Tongaren has completely become impassable with residents forced to seek an alternative road resulting from the heavy rains, besides the bridge having no guard rails hence making it more dangerous to the road users.

With 36 primary schools still under mud walled, Dr.Chikati said within the five years term he would have brought a significant change by eliminating all mud walled schools across the constituency in order to boost performance in national examinations and quality education to every child.
