Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka held a consultative meeting on Monday with Korea International Agency (KOICA) where they affirmed to complete the multi-billion water project by the end of next year.
The project that entails 6,000,000 USD is aimed at improving the water situation in Bungoma County with an estimated 83,700 people being beneficiaries of the same.
During the meeting, Lusaka promised to fast track the repairs of the roads to the main site of the project in order to enable the completion of the project as per scheduled timelines.
“We are going to fix the roads as a matter of urgency because we need this mega project completed.” Said Lusaka.
He at the same time said he will lobby the Assembly to pass the counterpart funding to boost the project.
“Everyone has been waiting for this project and the earlier it is completed the better,” he added
He promised to negotiate with communities where the pipes will be passing to allow the passage of the water.
