A three months old baby boy was rescued after he was discovered abandoned in a church in Lugari Sub County.

The baby who was well wrapped in a towel was found dumped in a bathroom at the Salvation Army church Mukuyu Corp in Musutsu village, Lumakanda location.
According to the church priest, major  Gerrishom Kidiya, they had spent the day at a graduation ceremony of the cadets at the Forestall Salvation Army Bible College but when they returned in the evening with his wife they were shocked to find the baby in the church bathroom.
“I  stumbled upon the baby in the bathroom after returning from the graduation ceremony this evening,” said the man of clothes.
He said there was a piece of carton box written on it using charcoal and placed beside the baby. The writings read ‘Mark Gitau, Mama Ashley.’
The incident attracted dozens of residents who thronged the scene condemning the act but none could identify the baby.
The little angel was later removed from the scene by a maendeleo ya wanawake leader Margaret Muranda accompanied by the area village elder John Ounza and taken to Lumakanda police station where they booked the report before he was taken for medical checkup at Lumakanda County hospital.
