A family in Lwandeti, Matete Sub County has been forced to spend nights in the cold after its house was set on fire by one of the residents.
Confirming the incident, acting Lwandeti location chief Thomas Luvonga said Mary Nanjala’s house was destroyed by fire allegedly lit by one of the residents identified as Wafula Khisa.
He said the two have been having a long-time difference over an unknown issue before Wafula set Nanjala’s house on fire Saturday night.
He said nothing was salvaged from the house with property worth thousands of shillings being reduced into ashes.
The local administrator said no one was injured in the incident adding that police have launched a manhunt for the suspect who disappeared after the incident.
Luvonga has appealed to the residents to look for amicable ways of solving their differences instead of resorting to such heinous acts.
