One person died following a road accident that involved a canter lorry and a motorbike at Lwandeti market along Eldoret-Webuye highway in Matete Sub County.
According to eye witnesses, the accident occured after the canter driver tried to avoid hitting the motorbike rider who was riding in the middle of the road unsuccessfully.
The lorry knocked the rider leaving him with serious injuries before it veered off the road and overturned.
The rider was rescued and rushed to Webuye Sub County hospital where he died moments later while the canter driver escaped with minor injuries.
The residents have appealed to the Kenya National Highway Authority to erect more bumps in the area to check on speeding motorists and help reduce accidents.
