A 21-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself inside his house in Matunda village, Nzoia location Likuyani Sub County.
According to Jonathan Chamwada they spent half of the day well with his son and after eating lunch he left to his hut and locked himself inside and was never seen outside before his body was found dangling from the rooftop.
“I tried to check on him in the evening but when I called and knocked on his door he didn’t answer, I left thinking he was deep asleep,” said Chamwada.
The single father said in the morning his only son failed to wake up early as he was used to forcing him to go and check on him.
“I went back to his door and found it still locked from inside the way I left it the previous evening,” said the father.
He said after knocking severally without an answer, he decided to inform his neighbors who came and helped him break the door and they were shocked to find the body dangling from the roof top.
He said he had no differences with his son and had not told him if there was anything that disturbed him and he didn’t know the reason that prompted him to take his life in such a cruel manner.
The body was removed by officers from Matunda police station and taken to Cherengany mortuary in the neighboring Trans Nzoia County as they launched investigations into the incident.
